Farewell My Concubine

A famous Peking Oprah of China, maybe one of the most favorite Peking Oprahs among our people, a song of love's tragedy, a beautiful historic story happened on (232 B.C.--202 B.C),when King Xiang Yu,loose his land to King Liu Bang, and was forcing to surrender.At the last moment, so called one of the bravest kings,Xiang Yu only got his horse--Wu Zhui(Black Beauty), and the loyal concubine-- Lady Yu around with him alone.
Lady Yu was a wise women,she knew that they won't make it, her only wish was to help her husband breaking through alive.So the women performed her last dance to him, with a pair of swords he gave her as a gift of love.When the dance came to the end, the brave woman cut her throat to make him free to go.

This was a true story. And there is also a famous Hongkong film about this story, performed by famous Hongkong Star Leslie Cheung.
